His work\, Soundwork as Soulwork\, has taken him around the world\, sharing music as a tool for healing\, connection and well-being. This workshop is experiential and accessible—all are welcome. \nFor Registrations & more information:\n705-493-0692\ncommunity@ohanawellness.ca\nOhana Health & Wellness Centre \n\nGary Diggins\nhttps://www.garydiggins.com/ \nGary Diggins began his musical career in the Detroit area working as an opening act for performers ranging from Alice Cooper to Sly and the Family Stone. In his early twenties\, Gary shifted his orientation from the performing arts to the healing arts. His interdisciplinary studies led him into the fields of psychology\, spiritual directorship\, grief counselling\, and music as a therapeutic modality.\nFor the past four decades\, Gary has maintained an expressive arts practice that blends sound therapy with counselling. His service is called Soundwork as Soulwork. As an educator\, Gary has served on faculty for the Haliburton School for the Arts\, the Transformational Arts College\, the Institute for Traditional Medicine\, and the CREATE Institute for their three-year expressive arts program.\nGary has written five books related to music as medicine. His current guidebook is entitled Liminality — Traversing the In-Between: A Guidebook for Therapists and Expressive Arts Practitioners.\n\n\nGary’s work with music as medicine has taken him to India\, Africa\, Europe\, South Korea\, Israel\, and throughout North America\, including a performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Gary and his family currently live on a rural property near Rocklyn\, Ontario.

DESCRIPTION:Ecstatic Dance\nFriday Nov 20th: 7 – 8:30 PM\n\nCome join us to dance ! Ecstatic Dance is a “letting go” form of dance which is done substances free\, generally without talking\, and listening to a variety of music. Any engagement including sitting\, lying down\, or any form of dance is allowed\, with the caveat that there is always respect other peoples expression and space.
