Vulnerability and devotion to our sense of “self”

The experience of vulnerability is one of the most difficult “feelings” for most of us to go through. Vulnerability arises in all areas of our lives, something new, old, change, the list can go on. There is a tendency to run, hide or suppress as to be vulnerable can be very unsettling, for the body and the mind, which will throw us off our center balance point and cause the some of the smallest of situations to become difficult and feel large.
When we give ourselves permission to surrender and “feel” our way into the vulnerable moments with grace and ease there is an equanimity that will arise from within us that allows us to move through even the most difficult of times.
 
For some of us the ability to sit, meditate, REST, and allow is difficult even though we should be able to do this at anytime, moment or space. If you are finding it difficult to get grounded, take time out to create a “space”, where you feel safe, comfortable and practice being still in that space.
 
I love my mat for this reason, when I REST, I listen to what my body tells me… if it aches, I move and practice so that it can stretch out beyond its natural state. If my head is busy, I will set my mind to task, with sound or prayer so that I can ground it. With my breath I offer my body and mind a communication tool that will assist the body and mind to be nourished with life force. I could go on and on about the importance of “just being” and allowing the fears of vulnerability to subside by a continuous yoga practice, devoted to the self… but I will not because that if your journey and for you to discover and your experience will be different from mine.
 
When all is said and done being devoted to our “self,” to our “I AM” is the greatest gift that we can give ourselves, and the choice of practice is not as importance as the devotion and the consistency that you put into it all is next to none.
 
You are worth every moment that you give yourself and more… it is not ego it is love. After all, when all is said and done, love, truth and grace, will carry us all.
 
And when we feel a sense of “self” combined with love, trust, truth and grace we will be able to share our authentic and true self with others, without fear, with freedom and not hold back on life, with the ability to ebb and flow with the sense life balance.

Thoughts of the day…

What gets you all fired up, not in the bad way (although the negative forces usually empower us to raise higher), but what raises you in the good way.

We (most of us) are hardwired for peace, love, joy and yet we always seem to be searching for enlightenment.

The big cosmic joke is, that it is already in us! LOL Quantum Physicists, Allen Watts, David R. Hawkins and many others studied the vibrations of “Emotional Frequency (Consciousness Levels).” The included chart gives us a scientific level of frequencies that emotions bring to us.

Trust me we will all suffer from times of lower vibration and often cross between a variety of emotions in a given moment let alone 1000’s of times throughout the day as we are human, and we ride the waves.

The trick is … not to get stuck in the hamster wheel that swirls you down. Also, to not allow our “vices” (what out there will make me happy in here) to take over, the wine, the food, the pot, the whatever it is that veils the hurt, pain, grief etc. The veil that we hide behind, when we are afraid to step out, actually (step within). We all have those emotional vices, triggers etc,. and there is no shame that should be associated with it, however we can easily jump on that spiral downward easily and sometimes without even noticing that we are on the wheel.

We fool ourselves by playacting to needs and desires, saying “If I only had… that would make me happy” or diving into the “haves and have nots” of others. Fact is the feelings of love, joy, peace… only happen when we focus on them from within (oh and same with the negative I might ad). When we consciously choose to not stay in the dark places and we move towards the higher emotional frequencies.

It is the quest for health, vitality, peace, love, joy the list goes on… but truthfully it is no where out there, it is within you.

I know, I’m a little hippy dippy and if you know me, I can easily move from one emotional frequency to the next, sometimes with hitting a 20, then elevating myself to a 700 because life is just that. A roller coaster, a ride, a trip call it what you may. In my eyes life’s a ride, and we can choose where we want to ride at any given time, just remember to “take your hands off the wheel” … and remember we can all experience the lower, but we can all choose to strive towards the upper and rise up with inner love, joy, and peace that we already are.
