Becky Porlier
About Becky
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Becky worked at the intersection of ecology,
agriculture, and community. She was the farmer-florist and small-business owner of
The Colour Farm, providing seasonal, fresh flowers and arrangements from the farm
for all of life’s occasions. She was also a founding member and the executive director
of the Upper Canada Fibreshed, a not-for-profit connecting agricultural textile networks
across Ontario.
Becky has a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, where she
completed a 200-hour practicum placement at Amelia Rising Sexual Violence Support Centre.
About 15 years before that, she followed curiosity through a Master of Science in Capacity
Development and Extension from the University of Guelph, which led to research on organic
farming in Bhutan, food security in the Canadian Arctic, and hands-on farming experiences
across Ontario and Quebec. Even before that, she socialized her way through an Honours
Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Art History from Wilfrid Laurier University,
then moved to Australia for a year — but that’s a story for another time.
Becky is a mother of two earthside, partner, daughter (eldest), sister, best friend, and
ex-wife. She has a silly-side and a let-her-roam-in-the-wilderness-unattended side, an
enjoys-the-finer-things side and a deadly-serious side.
Becky is currently accepting new clients. If you would like to book a session with her, please send an email to:Â b.porlier@gmail.com
